Cet article examine les griefs de Staël vis-à-vis du système religieux ultra, ainsi que l’outillage polémique qu’elle mobilise pour persuader le lecteur de la pertinence de ses vues. While Germaine de Staël completes the Considérations, in the end of 1816, the Ultra-royalists represent the biggest opposition to the French constitutional monarchy. Yearning to go back to the Ancien Régime, willing for the Catholic Church to regain her influence, the Ultra-royalists generate Staël’s downright hostility.
